On December 19, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chengxin Lithium was awarded the PAS 2060 Carbon Neutral Verification Statement issued by Bureau Veritas--a globally renowned international inspection and certification group. Chengwei Lithium has become the first "Zero-Carbon Factory" built by Chengxin Lithium, marking a solid step in Chengxin Lithium's "Dual-Carbon" strategy, which is accelerating towards the new era of Zero-Carbon. At the ceremony, Bureau Veritas also issued ISO14064 greenhouse gas verification statement, ISO14067 product carbon footprint verification statement and ISO50001 energy management system certification for Chengwei Lithium, Zhiyuan Lithium and Suining Chengxin Lithium.
It is located in the Lithium Battery Industrial Park of the Shehong Economic Development Zone, Sichuan. Chengwei Lithium integrates research and development, production and sales of lithium metal products. The main products include lithium ingots, lithium particles (sheets), lithium belts, and a series of metal lithium and lithium alloy products. Customers include companies of lithium batteries, aerospace, medicine, smelting, chemical and other industries. Chengwei Lithium has a team of technical experts with more than 30 years of experience in the lithium metal industry, advanced and reliable production processes, as well as pragmatic and efficient operation and management.
In the context of global climate change, in order to respond to the national "dual-carbon" goal, practice the concept of green and low-carbon development, and create green ecological factories, as the first "zero-carbon factory" of Chengxin Lithium, we have realized the use of 100% hydroelectricity relying on the rich water resources of Sichuan. Energy saving and emission reduction measures such as replacing the 12kA electrolyzer with a 30kA electrolyzer, replacing the secondary energy consumption motor, changing the connection method of the aluminum busbar of the electrolyzer, and installing water-cooling devices on the cathode arm of the electrolyzer have been taken to effectively reduce the indirect emission of energy. A total of 3,401.04 tCO2e is reduced in 2022, representing 94.74% of the total ISO 14064 GHG verification Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Chengwei Lithium also implements the recycling of water resources, and collects all production process and laboratory wastewater for tail gas recycling treatment, realizing zero wastewater discharge. Chengwei Lithium has played a set of green combinations to promote the transformation of energy structure and inject green kinetic energy for the high-quality and sustainable development of the industry.
The "Zero Carbon Factory" is a microcosm of the green and low-carbon development of Chengwei Lithium, a practical path to promote green manufacturing and implement the "dual-carbon" strategy, and an important milestone in the company's practice of ESG sustainable development strategy. Since 2019, Chengxin Lithium has been stationed in the Tibetan area of Aba, Sichuan Province through its holding of Jinchuan Aoyinuo Mining .Aoyinuo Mining actively fulfills its social responsibility and drives local employment during the construction and production process, with 1/3 of its employees being local residents. In order to deeply promote the construction of ESG and reflect the responsibility of enterprises in social responsibility, national integration and employee development, on November 21, the Human Resources Department of the company carried out special training on enterprise culture and labor rights protection for local Tibetan employees of Aoyinuo Mining, and more than 20 representatives of Tibetan employees participated in the on-site training.
The training focuses on promoting corporate culture concepts and watching promotional videos, focusing on explaining the company's mission, vision and strategy, social responsibility for ethnic areas and ethnic employees, additional care, local economic development, environmental protection, so that employees have a deep understanding of personal, corporate, social, economic and environmental "five-dimensional harmony" common development goals, but also to arouse the staff's sense of responsibility as the master of the enterprise and the spirit of solidarity.
