Chengxin Lithium's Subsidiary, Max Mind, Garners Prestigious National-Level ESG Award in Zimbabwe

On November 29, 2024, at the 2024 Zimbabwe National ESG & CSRAchievement Awards Ceremony held at the International Convention Centre in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, Max Mind, a subsidiary of Chengxin Lithium , was awarded the title of "ESG Award for InclusiveDevelopment of SDGs".
The 2024 National ESG and Responsible Business Achievement Awards, with the theme of "Building a Better Future: ESG/CSR Awards for Advancing Sustainable Business Practices", gathered numerous businesses and individuals from across Zimbabwe to celebrate and recognize outstanding entities that have successfully integrated ESG practices into their operations and actively assumed social responsibilities.
At the awards ceremony, the organizer spotlighted Max Mind's remarkable contributions, including the implementation of a community drought relief program that effectively assisted 600 households severely affected by drought, the establishment of four "Community Love Gardens", and the successful launch of the Mukubu Community Clinic in Buhera.
In October 2024, in the face of the severe drought caused by the El Niño phenomenon, Max Mind manifested its corporate social responsibility by donating 30 tons of corn to the surrounding affected communities to assist in alleviating the food shortage crisis. Simbarashe Dube, a community leader from one of the recipient households, stated, "At our most difficult moment, Max Mind extended a helping hand and brought us hope. This was not merely food aid; it was also a source of encouragement, making us more united in facing future challenges." Additionally, to tackle the local scarcity of medical resources, Max Mind completed the construction of the Mukubu Community Clinic earlier this year and procured corresponding medical equipment, significantly facilitating the medical needs of local residents and enhancing the accessibility of local medical services.
These initiatives have not only imparted significant positive impacts on Zimbabwe's sustainable socio-economic development but also profoundly exhibited Max Mind's continuous efforts in social leadership. Chengxin Lithium attaches great significance to this award and considers it as an authoritative recognition of the company's outstanding performance in fulfilling environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibilities. This honor not only spotlights the company's remarkable achievements in promoting sustainable development but also demonstrates its steadfast belief in and active pursuit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), clearly aligning our strategy with global sustainable development trends. Furthermore, it strongly substantiates that while creating economic value, Max Mind has consistently adhered to its solemn commitment to enhancing social well-being and environmental protection.
This honor is not only a high praise for Chengxin Lithium and our subsidiary but also a big encouragement for our future continuous exploration and unwavering efforts.
